The general mystery vibe was very present.

I’m really interested to see where these characters and their stories are going. I’m not a fan of love triangles and the drama that accompanies them, but the love triangle isn’t a major plot point (yet) in this, so it was bearable. Their relationship with Avery is a strange one and I love how all of the brothers interact with her. The Hawthorne brothers were very interesting indeed. This book also had quite a large cast of characters, but it wasn’t hard at all to keep track of them. I really hope we get to see more of her smarts in the second book. She’s supposed to be seen as just a pawn in the game, not a player. She’s a smart cookie, although the plot does happen to her a lot in this book. Avery is our main character, and I found her to be very likeable. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love four super-rich, super twisted brothers? The relationship dynamics in this book alone made my head spin. Caught in a world of wealth and privilege, with danger around every turn, Avery will have to play the game herself just to survive.
